kolang kaling

deskokayu

Not knowing it so well, the name might be odd for us.

deskokayu was my mom's snack brand, yes she's trying to be an enterpreneur.

deskokayu is refer to 'des kolang kaling ayu'. basically, kolang kaling (buah atap/ fruit roof) is a thumb-size oval-shaped transparent snack and has a refreshing taste. It made from the seeds of palm trees in flat and sticky form.

To make kolang kaling, the farmers usually burn palm fruit until charred, then take the seeds to be boiled for several hours (and surely my mom wont do that). Thanks to them, my mom and others mom don't have to make kolang-kaling,,well they just have to buy on the market though!

Kolang kaling have very high water content, so that it can provide a sense of satiety to the person who took it, but the carbohydrate level in it also lead gives the eater a full feeling (even stops your apetite!) and great for natural remedy for weight loss and improve digestion.. Sounds like diet-able for me.

kolang kaling is ramadhan tajil's (the beverages in fasting month) and idul fitri star. It could be coloring your 'precious-day' beverage, considering most of the good-heavy lebaran's food is contain of santan.

My mom never sell any of those kokayu again ('give it away' only), thanks to her work, yet someday I'll help to expand her dream, and I feel great about it.
